It might seem silly to have the history of a site that is so new, but we have received a number of questions concerning how this site started. At the 51st ICYPAA in Atlanta there was a committee meeting on Friday night about forming an International Young People in AA Intergroup or meeting list. There was a lot of discussion on the matter and the decision to move forward with an international YPAA Intergroup/meeting list was made. The domain name www.ypaa.info was purchased and a single page was put up on Saturday so that people could start submitting Young People in AA meetings while at ICYPAA. Shortly after other pages started being added to the site. Most importantly of these pages was the ability to actually see the Young People in AA meetings that have been posted. We then started contacting YPAA conferences around the world asking them to link to the site, submit meetings, and spread the word about the new International Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous Intergroup site, the response has for the most part been very supportive.
