Frequently Asked Questions

There have been a lot of questions about The International YPAA Intergroup site.

  • Q. How did www.ypaa.info get started?
A: The history of the International YPAA Intergroup site is told on the History Page.

  • Q. When did we get a ypaa intergroup
A: The site went up on May 23, 2009 after a committee meeting on May 22, 2009 at ICYPAA in Atlanta.

  • Q. When are your business meetings?
A: We don't have an answer to this question, but will post an answer as soon as business meetings are scheduled.

  • Q. What do we have to do to get our YPAA Conference listed?
A: Send us an email at meetings@ypaa.info. And we will add it to the list.

  • Q. What are you using as a backend for this site?
A: This site is running on a Linux server using php and MySql. All of which are open source so there is not a problem with having to buy expensive software. And the code is actually created in Notepad++, also a free open source program.

  • Q. Why is there that stupid text on the bottom of the submit a meeting page?
A: No one has really asked this question, but I wanted to answer it. That stupid text thing on the bottom of the Add A Meeting page is called a captcha and is designed to stop computer programs or bots from submitting spam links to the meeting list. This became neccessary as we were receiving about 20 spam links a day to the site. We apologize for the incovenience.

  • Q. Can our group make contributions to the YPAA Intergroup?
A: Not financial ones. Currently YPAA.info is operating at such a low cost that financial contributions would not make sense, but we would love for you to contribute your time and energy. We need people to submit Young People In AA meetings. We need people to spread the word that this site exists. We need people to leave feedback. If you really have some money burning a whole in your pocket go to the Contact Us page, download the Outreach card graphic and have some printed up, and start handing them out like crazy where ever young people are! I swear someone really asked this question.
